Forgiving myself is my mission in this lifetime and over the past nine years Dance Alive has provided a critical framework and a way of working on that process. It has supported a journey from divorce to happy marriage; a self image of ‘Sufferer’ to ‘Celebrator.’ I am forever grateful to Mariane Karou and her work.” | |||

| “Mariane’s Dance Alive system has been instrumental in supporting me in my life. The work is fun, alive, deeply healing and much more. It is one of the main tools I use to live my life more fully. I am also trained in the Dance Alive system, teach the work and incorporate it into my Physical Therapy practice. My life is richer and more authentic due to this work. Mariane has a gift and she is willing to share it; for that I deeply appreciate her and the Dance Alive work.” | |||

| “I have been practicing Dance Alive for almost 4 years. I have found my regular participation in both group and private learning situations to be an indispensable part of my life, especially as a business person who is faced with moment by moment dynamic situations. As often as possible I participate in classes, workshops, intensives and private sessions. I consider Mariane a Master Educator who promotes a fun, interesting and ever evolving body of teachings. She has successfully created a type of personal work that feels more like play, and while being one of the easiest things I've ever done, is also challenging as a discipline and practice. The principle foundation of the Dance Alive system is the movement forms. At face value they seem simple, and yet when followed through with attention, awareness and perseverance, real and practical results are realized. There is ALWAYS something for me to discover in class (i.e. in myself). Learning with Mariane is a rich experience. Some of the (many, many) benefits I continually receive are how to be a better leader & employer, a better student, a better communicator, a better listener and a better person; the skill of intention setting and attainment; a greater understanding of how the seemingly "invisible" concepts inherent in my personal experience and growth are physically, tangibly translated through my body; a greater ability to experience my "Being" and to "Do from Being"; a greater ability to get more things done, and at the same time move through Life with more ease; an improved ability to listen to, trust and follow my impulses and develop greater spontaneity; and, to top it off, a great workout that develops my strength, fluidity and flexibility. Additionally, both my wife and I do Dance Alive and together we practice the communication skills that we learn in our private couples sessions. It has helped our relationship immensely. I would HIGHLY recommend the study of Dance Alive to anyone who enjoys learning about themselves and other people.” |

| “Dance Alive has absolutely changed and continues to change my life. It has allowed me to remember what is true and natural for me, and taught me the skills to create my life with balance, ease and confidence, from the inside out. Coming from a background as a performing artist, a writer, and a voracious student of all things, I had never found a system that was comprehensive, spacious, practical and dynamic enough to assist me in all areas of my life. I could get a piece here, a piece there, but this left me feeling fragmented, frustrated and estranged from my own path. Dance Alive provides all that I was searching for – it is comprehensive, spacious, practical, and dynamic. It comes from the whole, and teaches the balance of the whole, training me to bridge all parts of myself into the joyful unity that is natural to me. With this integrative practice, I find myself stronger, more relaxed, and more capable to meet the challenges of life with an openness and willingness to learn and grow. It has given me the tools to create a wonderful growing marriage, home, and career, which I continue to develop and hone; it has deepened my connection to my body and expanded my capacity to continually cultivate greater physical and emotional health; it continues to teach me how to use my mind to create positive directions in all areas of my life. I cannot recommend the brilliance of this system (the likes of which I have not seen anywhere on the planet) highly enough, because it truly teaches anyone who is willing to learn how to dance with joy, balance and harmony, with all of who they are and all of their life!” | |||

| “Dance Alive is waking up my body’s own magic. In Dance Alive classes, I practice accepting, being with and moving parts of myself I’ve never moved before in an easy way with great music and Mariane’s incredible knowledge and spirit. Her example and teaching make it easy to acknowledge myself and begin to learn the deep physical, mental and emotional expression and expansion that it is useful to well being on every level…and fun!” | |||

“I’ve been studying and practicing Dance Alive with Mariane Karou for just one year. I can confidently say that I have much more clarity and ease in my life, I am much more functional and effective in my work and relationships, and I am much more present, authentic and integrated in all aspects of my life. I attribute these dramatic positive changes in my life directly to my work and study with Mariane Karou and Dance Alive. I think Mariane Karou is the most gifted, effective teacher of life skills on this planet. I can recommend her unequivocally to anyone who wants to live life at the highest levels of functionality and who is willing to do the self-study, work and practice necessary to get the maximum benefit from her teaching and leadership. I think Mariane Karou has figured out how to be a healthy human being (in the highest sense of mental, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual health) and that she has developed a system and style of teaching and role modeling that is surprisingly effective in helping other people to be healthy functioning human beings.” |

| “Dance Alive is the most vast study of movement, self, relationship and life. I will be a student of Dance Alive for the rest of my life and know that this is best thing I could possibly do for myself. It is a path of self-mastery- and it’s fun!” | |||

| “Dance Alive has changed my life. It has taught me what natural movement is. Natural movement is like a child’s movement: fluid, balanced, and strong where it needs to be. As a yoga teacher, I understood how postures directly affect both the physical and mental health. But Dance Alive deepened and expanded my yoga practice. In practicing Dance Alive, I tapped into the natural, already healed and whole wisdom of my everyday movement. Each movement is either habitual and not so aligned or is a step toward alignment. Dance Alive teaches me how to choose alignment and ease in each step.” | |||

| “As a 67 years old physician living and practicing at the East Coast, participating in something calling itself ‘Dance Alive,’ in California, required suspension of disbelief and forcing skepticism to remain in abeyance long enough to give the enterprise a chance to show what it is. As it turns out it is exactly what it purports to be: a method very carefully designed to help us, via movement generated by ourselves, to discover who we are - and who we might become, as we learn to divest ourselves of a very large number of unnecessary, and at times harmful, personal misconceptions. Space does not allow me to elaborate, I shall have to content myself in saying that at the end of my second exposure to the discipline (an Intensive of 4 days) I have found it a great deal easier to get along with others as well as with myself. From the purely physical point of view the method is eminently designed to improve health, but it needs to be stressed its success is due to the fact it does not recognize the ‘purely physical’: the discipline quite specifically calls into play all the various aspects of the human being and aims to establish a working harmony amongst them. I can only envy those who do not have to cross a distance of some 3000 miles to avail themselves of the opportunity to participate.” | |||

| “Dance Alive has given me the ability to access the joy and ease of moving in my body and in my life. It has given me a method that has allowed me to discover my own source of strength and power to experience my authentic relationship with myself and others. Dance Alive has had a profound effect on my life. I can’t imagine my life without it!” | |||

| “Dance Alive is complete. It enlivens movement like the practice of sutras in the wakefulness of the body. Why do I love ‘dancing alive?’ Because I feel more energy, more refinement of perception, more grounded and confident the more I practice. Dance Alive creates a greater awareness of space in my body while clarifying my ability to focus. Dance Alive strengthens bliss in life.” | |||

| “Dance Alive is amazing. Whenever I think I have nothing else to learn or feel in my body, or I just don’t want to go to class today, or I’m bored or I’m feeling low, or whatever...I am always blown away at how much I did learn, how much I did feel, how I really did want to be there and how much better I feel after a class! Dance Alive is both challenging and really fun! Mariane is the best, and you will find yourself on the journey of your life!” | |||
