" I love my life!"
to the source of life, when I am quiet, and when I am active.
I love to travel inside and connect to the entire universe within.
This is where all my inspiration and guidance comes from.
This is my greatest resource and this is where I live my life from.
I have the ability to listen, to trust, and to act with confidence on the information I receive from inside of me....
I can INSPIRE you to do the same.
I LIVE FROM MY HEART
and I am always on the map of where I need to go with myself and in relationship because
my heart is pure, my love is stable, and my devotion runs deep though all my cells. I can be firm and direct and I can be soft and fluid, because I know that coming from my heart means doing what is needed for the whole family team, not what feels good or bad, but what is serving the whole.
I AM NOT AFRAID TO MAKE MISTAKES
because I trust myself and my direction to teamplay, so I can make mistakes, because I know that my intentions are aligned and I am always learning, exploring and improving my skills.
I AM A RAVENOUS STUDENT OF LIFE
I absolutely love learning. I am inspired and learn from everyone all the time! Whether a person does something well or not, I use it for inspiration of what more I can be and how much more I can share.
I OPEN TO AND USE ALL INPUT PRODUCTIVELY
I like it when my students and family give me feedback so I know where they’re at, what they like, and what they don’t like.
I take feedback in and use it to see what I want to DO based on the new input.
I AM A SELF MOTIVATOR
I get my motivation by having such a high desire to be a healthy, vibrant and compassionate human being.
I am receptive, jovial, and direct as needed!
I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND YOUNG
I feel great about the choices I’ve made and how I’ve lived my life.
I love getting older as I get wiser and have more freedom to really explore myself. I’ve been MARRIED FOR 40 YEARS to a WONDERFUL MAN who loves me. What an adventure that has been! I consider my marriage one of my great accomplishments! He’s supportive of me being me, living my life and running our family the way that I have. He does his part and I encourage him- I do my part and he encourages me. We have a great life together!
I’ve raised 3 FABULOUS KIDS and NOW have 2 Fabulous Daughter in Laws and 1 fabulous son in law and 4 awesome grandchildren!
I am very proud of the great foundation we have given them and how well they are all doing choosing the path that is right for them. They all have their heads on their shoulders and stand on their own two feet. They work hard, play well, make choices, make mistakes and keep learning! I am now their Cheerleader in their lives!
I love all my students and appreciate everyone who has ever done movement with me in my entire life!
My Movement Background:
I’ve always loved movement. When I was young, I played everyday after school on a dirt lot with 30 other neighborhood kids. We played and played on our own for hours, with no adult guidance, just pure kid fun. I was always allowed to play. This was the beginning of my movement training!
I am a ravenous student and love to study in depth. This is one of my greatest pleasures.
At 18, I fell in love with breathing, fluid movement and the roar of a lion through my body with Emilie Conrad-Da’oud, founder of Continuum, a somatic based movement practice. I fell in love with her, with the class, with the movement I was discovering, and as I left my first class, I said, “I’m going to do this the rest of my life.” And I did. Emilie was creative and consistently inspired to enter the spaces inside her body, and I went where she took me. I studied intensely with her for 25 years, and on and off after that. She mentored me through college and I studied Continuum and taught my own work to earn my college degree, a BA in Movement/Psychology.
I also studied in-depth with Michael Nebadon for many years, the creator of The Form, a geometrically balanced movement in motion practice. I learned how to balance all the different angles and shapes with tensional integrity and move with lightness and freedom as a result of discovering those balances.
In addition, I studied all different forms of movement such as: Dynamic Meditation, Kundalini Movement meditations with Bwagwan Shree Rajneesh in India in the early 70’s; Gabrielle Roth, creator of the 5 Rhythms, Gestalt Therapy with Janette Rainwater (student of Fritz Perls, creator of Gestalt Therapy); Dance Therapy with Joanne Segal DTR; Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique with Judith Stransky; Hypnotherapy and NLP with Stephen Heller (teacher of Bandler and Grinder, who popularized NLP); as well as studying bits of Yoga, Pilates, Bar, and Fitness Training. I am greatly influenced by Laird Hamilton, a big wave surfer, and John Wooden, UCLA Basketball Coach, though I didn’t work with them personally. I’ve read, watched and practiced their incredible tenacity for life and coaching.
I’m am also an avid student of nutrition and have studied it from many angles for many years.
I love to be with my family, paddle board in the ocean, ocean swim year round, walk and hike, mountain bike, practice Dance Alive all the time, occasionally snowboard and playfully engage with nature, people and all of life!
I Absolutely LOVE Moving with ALL of YOU in my DANCE ALIVE FAMILY!!!
With warmth and love of life,
“I love Mariane with all my heart… no difficulty there, and love her willingness to keep showing up and evolving and sharing from a place of complete authenticity. You can trust that when she says something, she is telling you from a place of neutrality and authenticity."
~Myrna Rae B.
“Mariane is incredibly gifted at seeing your strengths and gifts, and helping you to bring them forth into the world! She has an intuitive, down-to-earth, compassionate, and go-for-it approach to moving her students through layers of doubt, fear, and whatever is in the way of realizing our dreams. I have never felt so connected to my inner strength, vitality, courage, and pure joy of living than I do now after studying with Mariane.”
